Zongoene Lodge is situated approximately 192 km from Maputo just south of Xai Xai, this unique lodge is built on the edge of the Limpopo River at the estuary where it flows into the Indian Ocean. Sand dunes stretch in both directions along the coast and the flood plains of the river extend behind the lodge to the main road. A 4x4 is recomended.

Trails through a coastal forest rich in flora and fauna lead to a 100 year old lighthouse with
magnificent views of the surrounding area. The bird watching in this area is outstanding.
Zongoene Lodge is built out of wood felled, cut and crafted on site by master wood cutters and carvers.
As much of the building materials as possible were sourced in Mozambique and more that 300 unskilled
labourers were trained to craft and create this magnificent lodge.

Zongoene lodge accommodates a maximum of 60 people in twin/double chalets and double storey family suites for four.
All rooms have en-suite bathrooms with bath and shower, all linen and mosquito nets are provided,
and they are serviced daily.
Laundry and baby sitting facilities are on request.
Most of the chalets are arranged around the large swimming pool, T. V. Area – Satellite Link, Beach Bar.
A large conference room can be utilized during business incentives trips.
The magnificent restaurant and bar area has a large open deck overlooking the estuary.
There is a pool table and library for relaxation in the evening.

Braai area.

Casarão (4 adults + 2 kids)
The Casarão (“Big House”) consists of two en-suite bedrooms, 2 x en-suite twin rooms.
2 x bunk beds in lounge area for children. A lounge/ kitchen/ dining area and an extended covered balcony, Braai area. 
The Casarão is also self-catering and is fully equipped, cleaning service and be hired.

The Dunes Camp (14pax) - The Dunes Camp consists of 5 rustic chalets sleeping 14 in total.
3 Twin Chalets (2 pax)
2 Family Chalets
2 Twins and 2 singles (4 pax)
The Dune Camp is self-catering and also has a dining area, braai and kitchen,
swimming pool and is fully equipped, with a butler to help with food preparation etc.
Cleaning service can be hired.

Camping in addition the lodge has camping facilities that consist of 16 secluded sites of varying sizes and two ablution blocks with hot and cold water, showers and toilets. Every site also has an electrical point for fridges and deep freezers, using standard SA fittings.
